Many conditions and circumstances interfere with our ability to remember, and to process information. I have experienced most of them. Now I struggle with Mild Cognitive Impairment on my way toward vascular dementia. I have lots of reasons for my brain not to work properly. Still parenting, I have a compelling need  to be organized and remember appointments and meetings. I don’t like how it feels to miss them, and now I rarely do! In this blog you will find what I use to “remember” things when my brain cannot be trusted to.

THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;

I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and I — I took the one less traveled by And that has made all the difference.

Discovering this poem was the beginning of realizing that doing things differently can be very good, and is often better. I have learned to delight in seeing things differently, solving problems and eliminating irritations. I have also learned some ways to get stuff done, even when my brain isn’t cooperating. Join me and let us enjoy the journey together!
